Brighton Speedway Applefest Rain Policy

For Immediate Release – Wednesday September 30, 2009

It was unfortunate that once again in 2009 Mother Nature rained on the Applefest Weekend at Brighton Speedway. Friday night brought unseasonable cold temperatures although the night’s events were completed featuring DIRTcar Sportsman competing in the Lucas Oil Challenge Cup and the Dirt Track Digest All-Start Race.

Even with the forecast unfavourable for the Saturday Nights 358 event, racers and campers were already on site and in attendance, and management made plans to go ahead with plans for the scheduled show. Knowing weather was looming officials made their best effort to get as much of the show in as possible. Officials started promptly at 7 pm and raced without interruption right through till 8:35 when the rain began to fall. By this time 7 heat events had been complete, two feature events and the Pro Stock B-Main was on the track.

Track Management has worked with other tracks to look at a potential makeup date in the late fall or early spring but a date could not be found that would work for everyone involved. It is with regret that the event has been cancelled and will not be made up. Brighton Speedways rain policy for this event will be as follows.
