HERRINGTON HEADLINES WINNERS LIST ON APPLES EVE

The kick-off to the biggest night in racing at Brighton Speedway was an action-packed affair on Saturday.

The DIRTcar Sportsman headlined the Applefest Shootout Eve event along with the Late Models, Canadian Modified/UMP’s, the Eastern Ontario Vintage Stock Club, Thunder Stocks and Ministocks engaging in 90 feature laps on top of multiple heats and timed hot laps.

Herrington scores first Dirtcar Sportsman series career win

Determined to secure his first Dirtcar Sportsman series career win and Applefest victory Saturday night, No. 88z driver Bobby Herrington snapped up the top spot on the lead lap of the 30-lap feature event and never looked back.  Herrington rode the inside line hard as polesitter No. 88K Dylan Kirkland and No. 35R William Racine tried to overcome the 88z.  Racine went door to door with Herrington and was successful at one point but it didn't last long.  Herrington put the hammer down and parked it in victory lane with Racine in second.  Kirkland took third, No. 18Kalen Draper fourth and No. 94 Gabriel Cyr fourth.

Ramsay rides to victory lane

It only took No. 03 Justin Ramsay two laps to take the lead in the Thundersotck 20-lap main event.  Ramsay bit down on the inside line as he held off powerhouses No. 72 Doug Anderson, No, 26 Kraig Handley, No. 1 Brock Gregory and No. 40 Ronnie Wadforth who tried to intimidate him from behind.  Even as multiple cautions slowed the pace, Ramsay didn't waiver as he rode to victory lane leaving Anderson to settle for a hard-earned second.  Handley took third, Gregory fourth and No. 74 Mike Lucas fifth.

Olivieri takes Ministock Duel in the Dirt

No. 16 Fabio Olivieri jumped on the lead on the first lap and never looked back in the caution-riddled 20-lap affair.  Olivieri took home duel in the dirt bragging rights with No. 72 Austin South, No. 7 AJ Rinaldi third, No. 14 L John Lubeck fourth and No. 96 Cole Abrams fifth.

Powers and Stapper bring home victories

No. J73 Josh Powers was flawless in the Eastern Ontario Vintage Stock Car Club 20-lap main.  He picked up the lead in the 70s/80s division from the drop of the green flag and took off to victory lane. No. 66 Pete Stapper waived checkers in the 50/60s class.
