Brighton Speedway Hosts Inaugural Mr. DIRTcar Series Events During Upcoming Applefest Weekend

For Immediate Release – September 17th, 2012

BRIGHTON, ON – Craig Revelle – This coming weekend will be history in the making as Brighton Speedway hosts the DIRTcar Series events for both the Sportsman and 358 Modifieds. The pit area will be filled with some of the biggest names in DIRTcar racing as the Mr. DIRTcar tour tackles the tricky Brighton Speedway for the first time ever during the annual Applefest Weekend.

358 Modified Series points leader Dale Planck will make his first ever appearance at Brighton Speedway along with teammate and car owner Carey Terrance. Mat Williamson, Matt Billings, Erik Rudolph and many others will all be in battle, along with last year’s Applefest 358 Modified winner Tim O’Brien and a strong contingent of cars from the east and west regions of Ontario, plus many invaders from Northern and Central New York.

The DIRTcar Sportsman division was on the schedule last season at Brighton’s Applefest Weekend but had to be cancelled due to rain. They will be back this weekend for the second attempt at their inaugural race and will see Sportsman Series point leader Brandon Easey come in with a 14 point advantage ahead of both Martin Pelletier of Quebec and Cody McPherson from Merrittville. Dave Marcuccili and Mathieu Desjardins will also be at Brighton looking to solidify their spot in the DIRTcar Sportsman top five.
