Laps for 358 Modifieds and Two-Day Sportsman Shootout

BRIGHTON,
Ont. – August 19, 2016 – Brighton Speedway is excited to
reveal the format and purse for the 12th annual
PartSource Applefest Shootout Weekend presented by Image
Factor Motorsports Designs, Lucas Oil, Coca-Cola, VP Racing
Fuels, Hoosier Racing Tire and Cool 100 on September 23 and
24.
The
two-day event features the $5000-to-win PartSource Applefest
Shootout 100 for the 358 Modifieds and $6000-to-win Great
Crate Race for the Go Nuclear Late Model Series as well as
two $1000-to-win DIRTcar Sportsman races.
The
busy weekend begins on Friday, September 23 with a 30-lap
DIRTcar Sportsman invitational shootout and 30-lap,
$1200-to-win Pro Late Model invitational. The Eastern
Ontario Vintage Stock Car Club will also make its second
appearance of the 2016 season. The Brighton Automotive Pro
Stocks, Bill’s Johns Comp 4s and Quinte Septic Stingers
are included on the schedule.
Saturday’s
racing features one of the highest paying 358 Modified races
in the Northeast with $5000 on the line for the 100-lap
Applefest Shootout feature winner. The biggest payday of the
season is also on the line for the Go Nuclear Late Model
Series with $6000 up for grabs in the sixth annual Excel
Tower Service Great Crate Race presented by Humber
Nurseries.
The
top-three drivers in points from DIRTcar 358 Modified weekly
tracks (Brockville, Can-Am, Cornwall, Drummond, Granby,
Merrittville, Mohawk and Ransomville) are guaranteed
starters in the 100-lap main event. Drivers will qualify for
the event through standard group time trials and heat races
with provisional starting spots used only if necessary.
Point standings will not affect a driver’s starting
position, except to determine the starting order between two
or more provisional drivers.
The
Super DIRTcar Series Sportsman tour joins Saturday’s
program for a 35-lap, $1000-to-win event. The Duel on the
Dirt Pro Stock Series championship will be decided Saturday
in a 50-lap race with $1000 awarded to the winner. Brighton
Speedway’s own Bainer’s OilGARD Canadian Modifieds will
also be on the card for their final 25-lap race of the
season.
Pit
gates will open at 4:00pm for competitors on Friday,
September 23 with spectator gates scheduled to open at
5:30pm. Racing will begin at 7:00pm. Adult admission is $15,
$13 for Youths/Seniors and $4 for Children age 7-12. A
Family Pass, valid for two adults, two youths/seniors and up
to three children is just $40.
On
Saturday, September 24, pit gates will open at 3:00pm with
spectator gates opening at 4:00pm before an early 6:00pm
start. Adult admission is $28 while youth/senior admission
will be $23 and Childen age 7-12 are $6. A Family Pass will
be $75.

Brighton Speedway is a 1/3-mile clay stock car racing
oval located on the shores of Lake Ontario in Brighton, Ont.
The speedway hosts five weekly stock car divisions on
Saturday nights from May to September.
