BRIGHTON
– The 11th annual edition of Brighton
Speedway’s PartSource Applefest Shootout will rumble to
life on September 25 and 26. The event, presented by Lucas
Oil, Cool 100 and
Coca-Cola, once again falls on the Town of Brighton’s
Applefest weekend.
The
event will once again showcase DIRTcar 358 Modified and
Sportsman action over two nights in each division’s only
appearance of the season at Brighton. The races will count
as preferred starter races for Super DIRT Week, the annual
event held at the Moody Mile on the Syracuse Fairgrounds in
Syracuse, NY each October.
The
event starts on Friday, September 25 with the DIRTcar
Sportsman 50-lap Shootout, paying $1500-to-win. The Eastern
Ontario Vintage Stock Car Club, Brighton Automotive Pro
Stocks, Bill’s Johns Comp 4s and Quinte Septic Stingers
will also be on the schedule.
Last
season Gary Lindberg outdueled Cody McPherson and Shane
Pecore for the Sportsman victory in a spectacular race with
30 starters. Lindberg became the seventh different winner in
as many sportsman races at the event.
The
second half of the weekend on Saturday, September 26 will
see the DIRTcar 358 Modified drivers battle for 100 laps.
There will be plenty of incentive for drivers to battle for
the top spot with a $5000 winner’s cheque on the line.
Ransomville,
NY’s Erick Rudolph claimed the top spot on the podium last
season as he held off Carrey Terrance and Danny O’Brien
for the 100-lap victory over the 22-car field.
The
Vanderlaan Building Products RUSH Pro Late Models and
Bainer’s OilGARD Canadian Modifieds will be on the
schedule as well. The event will also mark the $1000-to-win
finale of the Duel on the Dirt Pro Stock series between the
Brighton, Humberstone, Merrittville and Ohsweken Speedways.
Racing
is scheduled to get underway at 7:00pm on Friday, September
25. General adult admission for the event is just $15.
The
action will start one our earlier – at 6:00pm – on
Saturday, September 26. General adult admission for the
final racing program of the 2015 stock car season at
Brighton Speedway is $23.
